On Saturday, March 8, George Bush vetoed a bill that would require the CIA to abide by national and international laws and treaties regarding the use of torture.
In his Saturday radio address, Bush announced unambiguously that the United States has used torture in the past and will continue to use “the tool” whenever and wherever it needs to in the future in order to protect American interests.
He said that he is sure that this is what the American people expect from their government.
WE MUST TELL HIM AND THE WORLD:
“NO, WE DO NOT EXPECT OUR GOVERNMENT TO TORTURE. IT MUST STOP NOW.”
